In brief: I got these boots for review from Magnum themselves through a Facebook contest and I have had Magnum boots from the Classic Cen boots (from which the Classic Tac Spec is derived) to the Strike Force II waterproof insulated boots. Finally, I'm an ordinary person who happens to mostly walk (otherwise relying on either cycling or public transport), I occasionally volunteer at my local heritage railway and when I'm out I find that when I wear my boots, I wear them for way over 8 hours a day. Skip to the end of the review for my score and final summary. So, with that said, what about the boots themselves? I've had the boots now since late November and I have walked in the rain, wind, cold, snow (from light to "oh dear it's past my ankles"), ice and relatively calm days. They have been my everyday footwear during my testing of them, and I can report that whilst the missing lining is missed and the padding isn't as thick as I'd like, they're still comfortable and supportive. Unlike in shoes or cheap supermarket boots, I don't feel aching in my legs and feet after two hours of wearing them. Whilst working on said heritage railway, I would have been wearing the Tac Spec boots for up to 1 hour before I arrived at the railway and 8 hours later, my standing-up job will be over and I don't feel tired or aching. A headache from entertaining families perhaps, but I highly doubt my boots can do much about that...well legally anyway... ;) What I am surprised about, is that the Vibram soles have maintained their integrity (including the Vibram logos as seen in the photos) despite being kicked by other people without any spatial awareness or walking on loose gravel, mud, snow etc. Furthermore, the four little vibram "spikes" really do help assist in gripping such terrain, additionally I have yet to find the boots tracking in loose stones. The stitching has held together, no defects have arisen in all the time I've used these boots and are quite durable, despite my lack of care of the boots and what they've been put through. But there are a few issues in other areas. Because of the lack of lining and the breathable nature of the boots means that unless you're wearing thermal socks, you will feel the cold. And not being waterproof, I would strongly advise avoiding all but the most shallow of puddles and any ankle-deep snow (unless you want said snow to melt and find your socks have become quite wet). The good news is that the boots will dry out quickly (within 30 minutes at room temperature) when you take them off at your home and that, despite any amount of walking that I do, my feet never feel overly hot. The inner soles do indeed, under normal circumstances, wick the moisture away. Finally, if you see these in a shop? Try them on and walk a few paces. It's the only way to appreciate the subtlety of these boots, it's also the only way that you'll appreciate how light these boots are and - for me anyway - feel more like slippers in terms of lightness and comfort. A good thing. So far then, my review score would be as follows:- Durability: 5/5 Comfort: 3/5 in colder months, 4/5 once the warmer months are reached Grip: 4/5 (avoid ice) Overall: 12/15 - These boots are an investment, I'd recommend them if you work largely indoors (or outdoors in city centres and not in dire wintery conditions) and/or are looking for boots that are utilitarian and athletic, that looks little different than a standard boot and helps to keep your feet dry in the warmer months ahead, no matter what your activity.

- We will accept your shoes providing they are in their original condition and have not been worn outside. Therefore, customers should only try the shoes on indoors and on carpeted surfaces.
- Where possible, please keep the box in the same condition as you received it, as this will speed up the returns process. Shoes must be unused and undamaged to be eligible for return.
